David, the founder and steadfast leader of Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid, not only shaped the path for legal aid in Texas but left an indelible mark on the national canvas of legal service to communities in need. For 42 years, David steered the TRLA with unwavering dedication and an unbreakable spirit that saw the organization through countless successes and challenges.
David was not just a leader; he was a mentor, advocate, and true legal legend, featured aptly in the Texas Legal Legends project. His stories and perspectives, his approach toward legal aid, and his intrinsic empathy for underserved communities will continue to inspire generations of legal aid advocates.
